Contracted by Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID), Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) holds responsibility for maintenance of the landfill and operation of the compressed air system owned by the Walt Disney Company located outside Orlando, FL. The Disney subsidiary owns and operates utility systems containing 25,000 acres in-between Orange and Osceola County entitled the District. In 1967, the District received legislation to possess the authority and responsibility of a county government. The company handles public services and public works to include hot water, chilled water, natural gas, fuel oil distribution, potable water, and recycling and drainage control, as well. RCES operates as the only non-entertainment-related subsidiary of Disney.
